Charity Bike Ride: jacksplace to St. Tropez

Welcome to our blog.

On Tuesday 6th July; Jamie Chaplin-Rogers, Humphrey Kelly, Barney Muir, Archie Nelson and Tom White will be cycling from 'jacksplace' (Nr Winchester) to the port of St. Tropez in the south of France. We are doing the trip to raise awareness and funds for 'jacksplace' which is a hospice for teenagers with terminal illnesses. It was set up in late 2009 and is run by the charity Naomi House.

We are cycling just over 800 miles in 10 days. We will be camping along the way and will be supported by Hector Freyne and Tom Nelson in a back-up vehicle.

We are leaving on Tuesday the 6th July. At this point in time we have raised just over £20,000.

Visit to Jacksplace

Today the 5 of us visited jacksplace, ahead of our departure tomorrow. It truly is an amazing place and i hope to upload photos of it today for you to see.

Very busy at the moment with last minute things. Packed the support vehicle today with all the tents, cookers, food and equipment - a lot more than first anticipated.

Final Countdown.

A hectic weekend of final preparations has ensued after breaking up on Saturday. Were all going to jacksplace tomorrow to see the new hospice, and meet some of the patients and staff alike. Then on Tuesday we set off from jacksplace. We will try and keep this blog updated frequently, but cant guarantee anything.

Chris Hoy...

Chris Hoy, the most successful Olympic male cyclist of all time, has wished us luck with our bike ride. He sent us his signature and said he thought the trip would be a huge success, here is a picture for proof!!
